Jonathan M. Berman is an entrepreneur and businessman based in Chicago, IL. He is the founder of venforo.com, a forum for buyers and sellers of web-based properties that enables them to deal directly through an auction-based, online marketplace. Jon’s extensive hands-on, practical experience in both starting, growing, and selling online businesses ensures the functionality built into venforo is based on the real-world needs of business sellers and buyers.
Jon is one of the founders and former President of The TonJon Company, a niche manufacturer of bath accessories based in Aurora, IL. In 1999, after 11 years of profitable growth, he sold his interest in TonJon when he founded eQwip.com, a "pure-play" ecommerce retailer of designer bath fixtures and accessories. With revenues over seven figures, Jon sold eQwip.com to an ecommerce aggregator in November, 2008. The following year, Jon co-founded ElderProofHome.com, a startup ecommerce retailer and forum dedicated to helping seniors and their caregivers with the information and products necessary to live at home both independently and safely. In November, 2011, ElderProofHome.com was sold to an entrepreneur looking for an established e-tailer in the medical field.
Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, Jon spent 8+ years with Caterpillar, the majority of the time based in Europe as a Regional Product Support Sales Manager with responsibility for the UK, Ireland and Denmark markets. He has a B.A. in Asian Studies from Knox College (IL) graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors. Upon graduation, Jon spent 2+ years as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of Korea. After completing his service, Jon received a Master’s of International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management (AZ) in 1981 with a concentration in marketing and management.
